There are many different methods used to clean carpets. Almost everyone is familiar with the hot water extraction method, so called steam cleaning. There is a process that uses a foam type product that is agitated into the carpet, a process that uses a dry chemical that is spread over the carpet then agitated into the carpet fibers by a counter-rotating brush machine that then vacuums up the dry chemical and the dirt. Some commercial facilities will use a rotating floor machine and a cotton bonnet to surface clean the carpet. All of these methods work to varying degrees.
At Crystal Clean Carpets we use an oscillating machine with various brush or pad options and a very small amount of moisture. Our machine produces a tremendous amount of agitation for the carpet fibers. We are able to scrub our encapsulating chemical all over each fiber, then absorb the dirt and grease into absorbent pads. We use substantially less water than the hot water extraction method with equal or better results. Our chemicals leave no soapy residue in the carpet to attract more dirt. In fact they will keep the carpet fibers cleaner longer than hot water.
